Facilities and Activities

The minimum facilities and activities that are expected from the Rural Information Technology Youth Development Center are as follows :

a. Vocational Training, Guidance and Entrepreneurship development for employment/self-employment.
b. Information about Schemes and Programmes of major thrust areas of rural youth development and community welfare such as Health and Family Welfare, Employment/Self-employment, Environment Sustainability, Education, Disaster preparedness and others of local need and importance.
c. Take up projects and organize programmes and activities under major thrust areas of rural youth development as mentioned under column (b) above on regular basis.
d. Regular sports activities, tournaments and culture programmes.
e. Seminars, workshops, lectures and group discussions on themes of national, state and local importance and relevance.
f. Library facilities with newspapers, books and magazines of interest of rural youth.
g. Organization of information and access to services camps in the district.
h. Carrier counseling and guidance for young people.
i. The RITYDC besides its social and community development activities in the district should devote regular time to promote yoga, voluntarism, democratic values and nationalism among the masses.

In addition, the following facilities are desirable.

i. Ensure internet/computer facility to the villagers at reasonable charges decided in consultation with District Youth Coordinator of NYKS. For this purpose the centre will have to run electricity generator in case of non-availability of electricity supply.
ii. Facilities to watch TV/VCP. TV should be kept in open space and be run for public view.
iii. Facilities to listen to radio programmes.
iv. Telephone
v. Vocational Training
vi. Sports and Cultural Programme Equipments
vii. Any other facility created by mobilizing assets and material according to local needs.
