Ministry of Youth
Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India has sanctioned 78 National Integration
Camps to NYKS to be organized till October 2009.
These NICs are
dedicated to mark the beginning of a nation-wide campaign against communal and
disruptive forces. The objective of these camps is to make the people in
general and youth in particular aware of the threat posed by the disruptive
forces and to equip them to safeguard the common heritage (Sanjhi Virasat) and
secular fabric of the nation. The youth participants of the camp should be
given exposure & orientation to understand the essential features of
oneness of all religions, traditions, and languages and above all the unity in
diversity of Indian life.
Each 7-day camp
will have 100 participants drawn from 5 different states and number of
programmes and activities are organized.
