Under the National Programme for Youth & Adolescents
Development (NYPAD) of the Ministry (with support
from the UNFPA) many programmes for empowerment
and development of adolescents are being executed
in 64 districts by NYKS. The following programmes
are currently in the implementation and monitoring
mode :-
- Teen Club
Activities : 3840 teen clubs
in 64 districts are in initial stage of working
and sustenance. A new guidelines is being
prepared. Parents and stakeholders will have
more intense role in running the affairs of
the teen clubs.
- Rural Counseling Programme : The programme
scheduled for earlier months awaits the conclusion
of the General Elections 09. The programme
begins with training of 40 Village Counselors
on Counseling on life skills, reproductive
and Child Health, Nutrition and the working
of the teen clubs.
- Career
Mela : - The three-day programme
is left to be concluded in ten districts.
Other districts finished the programme before
the announcement of the General Elections.
- Assessment work of Project staff : - The
assessment of work performance of 64 Discticts
Project Officers, 64 Adolescent Peer Volunteers
& 4 Monitoring Officers.
